In 2010 the Icelandic volcano, Eyjafjallajökull, erupted, creating an ash cloud that covered most of Europe, stretched as far as Canada, and left over 10 million people stranded. Two twins lie on a trampoline staring up at a cloudless sky, imagining the ash above them.
One explosion. Two twins. Three stages of life.
This is a story about memory and how it changes; about the breaking point, the eruption and the destruction of everything taken for granted and what you thought you would be; about loving someone whilst hating them, but hating what they do to themselves even more; about grief and David Bowie and how no one knows the right thing to say, especially when you're young and stupid and hurting.
