Shelved dir. Sebastião Marques Lopes Fri 27th May - 9:00pm
Lawrence Fowler is an aspiring playwright chasing the dream, yet tiresome of the constant rejection, insecurity, self-doubt and poverty that comes along with it. Having little to show for but a minuscule apartment, two embarrassing jobs and heaps of rejection letters one year after graduating university, all logic and those around him seem to insist that he perhaps should pursue a more “respectable career”. As pressure piles up, Fowler finally commits on deciding whether to shelve his work or not one night, unaware that the characters from his plays decide to come to life and have a say in the matter. Some to encourage him to carry on. Others to beg for the dusty shelf. Others not bothered at all.
When humanity falls victim to a disease, turning people into flesh craving, drooling, rotting versions of themselves (yes, alright zombies) it spells good news for one company. Business is booming at MediBite Inc., where sales of their drugs and medical supplies have shot through the roof. However, everything changes when scientist Stuart finds a cure for the cliched disease that has ravaged the world. A debate is sparked within the office with each employee having their say and their true colours being exposed. However, with both the living and the dead demanding a cure, time is running out...
